When wan tan mee meets wat tan hor! 😄 This place has established itself as an institution for wan tan mee in Penag. Established over 60 years ago and currently managed by the second generation, it specialises in just one thing: "lor" wan tan mee. The noodles here have all the components of a regular wan tan mee—wan tan noodles, wan tans (it comes with fried by default, but I opted for the healthier boiled version 😬), char siu, and chai sim (mustard green). But instead of dark soy sauce, the noodles are doused in a slightly thickened egg gravy similar to wat tan hor, which is called "lor" in Penang. It also comes topped with slices of mushroom and chicken. I think pairing it with pickled green chili is the best, though they also serve sambal belacan.
