Penang's iconic popiah skin artisan.
On a nice stroll one early weekday morning without the usual holiday crowd, saw the uncle already busy making the popiah (spring roll) skin. The way he bounces the dough on the hand looks so satisfying 😄. I had to stop for a bite. Opted for the salty sweet kacang tumbuk (peanut candy). The thin popiah skin is slightly chewy. The hint of saltiness from the peanut makes it so addictive.
One day will buy the popiah skin home to make my own popiah 🤞🤞
